Frequently Asked Questions

  • We typically start seeing kiddos at 10 years-old, but we do see younger ones on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out if you have someone in mind!

We don’t have a cut-off age! If we start working with you we will keep working with you.

  • Our standard counselling rate is $132/hour.

Counselling is covered by most insurance providers. However, each plan is different and so we suggest you check with yours to confirm the specific details.

When reviewing your plan, please pay close attention to the designation of counsellor that they cover: Registered Social Worker (RSW), Registered Social Service Worker (RSSW), Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO), Master of Social Work (MSW), Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), etc.

  • We realize there are financial barriers to accessing mental health support.

If you don’t have insurance coverage, here are some of the options we offer:

    (1) Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program, for individuals with a status card.

    (2) Coverage through the Metis Nation of Ontario.

    (3) Sliding scale pricing.

    (4) Sponsored counselling program.

  • We do have cancellation fees, but we also know that sometimes unexpected things come up.

There are no cancellation fees if you are unwell - we’d rather you stay home and get better!

Otherwise, appointments cancelled less than 12-hours from a scheduled appointment may besubject to a 50% service fee.

No-shows may be subject to a 100% service fee.

  • Our office provides a welcoming, warm, and comfortable place to meet, and is close to the Parry Sound fitness trail for those who prefer to walk-and-talk.

We provide in-person and virtual services and hope you will take advantage of the flexibility these options offer. Comfort during counselling is important.

  • Our services are private and confidential. Our scope of practice and maintenance of client records is governed in accordance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers (OCSWSSW) Code of Ethics.
