About Meghan Irvine (B.Ed., B.A.)

Meghan received her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Western Ontario with teaching specialties in Visual Arts and Math for the intermediate-senior levels (grades 7-12). Later, Meghan completed her additional qualifications and is now a certified teacher for grades 4-12.

Meghan was drawn to teaching Art and Math because they are subjects that emphasize learning a process over memorizing answers. She thinks Art and Math are also unique because kids will decide (very early on) if they are “good” at them - something she says typically reflects the ways they have been taught more than it does their ability. Meghan is a firm believer that the right learning strategies and approach to math are essential to success, and she is passionate about helping students, from preschool through to grade twelve, achieve that.

She is an experienced teacher and tutor, and collaborated on the Mathematics Survival Kit published by Nelson College.

Meghan is also a professional artist. Her works are carried in a number of galleries across Ontario.
