Connected Families
Who it’s for:
parents with children ages 2-16 years-old who are experiencing relationship challenges within their family (a separation, significant conflict, placement to another home).
What it is:
an evidence-based program designed to strengthen families by increasing the knowledge, communication, and skills of parents and caregivers.
We will talk about:
ways to build emotional connection.
how to provide support for behaviour while building connections.
challenges of caring for challenging children.
the importance of self-care (and what this actually means and looks like for busy families).
how our experiences as children (how we were parented) shape the way we parent (and what to do if we want to change that).
When it is:
a 5-week program on Tuesdays from 6-8pm:
November 3 - the foundational challenges of parenting - trust, influence, shame, and unclear needs
November 10 - connective parenting - the PACEful technique
November 17 - connective parenting - the PACEful technique
November 24 - connection with correction - what to do when things get hard
December 1 - taking care of ourselves - a special discussion on (realistic) self-care for parents
