Connected Families:
an attachment-based program for parents & caregivers
Who it’s for: parents with children ages 0-16 years-old
What it is: a program designed to strengthen families by increasing the knowledge, communication, and skills of parents and caregivers.
We will talk about:
ways to build emotional connection
how to provide support for behaviour while building connections
challenges of caring for challenging children
the importance of self-care (and what this actually means and looks like for busy families)
how our experiences as children and how we were parented impact our parenting
When it’s happening: this 6-week program runs on one of two days:
Group 1: Mondays from 5:30-8:30pm starting April 6th (until May 11th)
Group 2: Thursdays from 5:30-8:30pm starting April 9th (until May 14th)
Where it’s happening: Sound Community Hub (86 Gibson St., Parry Sound)

Childcare is available if needed
To help us learn more about the impact of this program, each parent/caregiver will be asked to complete a before and after survey. Each parent/caregiver will receive a $15 gift card as a thank you for doing this.
We recognize the commitment needed for this program - it is 6 weeks after all - and will acknowledge your time with a $180 gift card (per family) at the completion of the 6 weeks.

Do both parents/caregivers have to come? No.
What if I have children but they aren’t living with me right now? That doesn’t matter, we’d love to have you join.

With over 20-years experience working with children and youth, Colleen has dedicated her career to supporting young individuals in overcoming challenges, building resilience, and achieving their full potential. She is committed to advancing mental health support in our community.
Colleen has a particular focus in trauma and attachment, supporting children and youth who have experienced developmental trauma and abuse.
